Business photography and video in Derbyshire.

I photograph businesses all round Derbyshire from here in Belper: the people who work there and the place itself, shot at your premises, not in a studio somewhere. Then I make sure the photos go on your website and your social, because that’s the whole point of having them done. I studied media photography, then worked in live events lighting and staging before running operations in logistics, so I know how to get a shoot done properly.

Where can a Derbyshire business get professional photos taken for its website?

North Bear Media, run by Norton Hunt in Belper, photographs businesses across Derbyshire, mainly their people and premises, for websites and social media. Regular photos come from the quarterly filming day in Found & Filmed at £995 a month, and a one-off shoot is scoped first as a project. The £295 Marketing MOT is the usual place to start.

The photos on the website are a few years old by now.

You know the photos want doing. But you’ve got a business to run, there’s always something more urgent, and the shoot never gets booked. So let me do it.

The website’s running on phone snaps and a stock photo of two people shaking hands, and the only headshots are the ones people did themselves for LinkedIn. The vans got re-liveried and the unit got refitted, but nobody photographed any of it properly.

Customers notice. People judge the business off its photos well before they pick up the phone, and a stock photo makes you look like everybody else.

I come out and photograph the real thing, and before the day we decide what each photo is for, the website or next month’s posts. Every photo gets a job, so none of them sit in a folder.

From a shot list to photos that actually get used.

How a shoot goes, whether it’s the filming day on Found & Filmed or a one-off.

  1. 01 //

    Plan it

We start with what the photos are for, the website or a recruitment drive. Then a shot list and timings, agreed with you before the day.

  2. 02 //

    Shoot it

I shoot on site, where the work happens, and stay out of the way of the working day. Video as well, if moving pictures will do the job better.

  3. 03 //

    Edit it

Every photo’s edited and retouched, then you get them in high resolution for print and at web sizes for the site and social. On Found & Filmed they go straight onto the posts and pages they were taken for.

  4. 04 //

    Next time

Anything that changes in between, a new starter or a refitted unit, goes on a list for next time. On Found & Filmed that’s the next filming day, so it gets photographed while it’s still new.

Client view

“He is approachable, really took the time to listen to what I wanted and quickly grasped my Company’s approach, ethos and target client group.”

A shoot on its own, or photos every quarter.

You can have a one-off shoot from me, a morning of team headshots say, and I’ll scope that first and give you a price before anything’s booked.

The risk with a one-off is coming away with a load of good photos and nowhere for them to go. With Found & Filmed the filming day has a job before it starts, because the photos go into the posts for the next few months, and onto the website wherever something needs updating.

Found & Filmed is a filming day on site with you each quarter, then I edit and caption the video and stills. The posting and the replies are handled, and so is getting found on Google and in AI search, along with your website’s hosting and care. Every month there’s a report and a call. It costs a lot less than a full-time hire, with no salary, no training and no cameras to buy, because I bring the kit. It’s £995 a month, rolling monthly with 30 days’ notice either way, so if it’s not working you stop.

Not sure the photos are the problem? The MOT’s £295, and I look at what people see when they find you on Google, along with five other things.

Photography for a county of very different businesses.

An office on Pride Park and a recovery yard in Alfreton need very different photos. I shoot both.

In Derby it’s corporate headshots and team photos, for offices on Pride Park and round the Cathedral Quarter, and for workshops and units across the city, where a dated team page makes a firm look smaller than it is. I bring the lights and the backdrop to your office and work through the team with minimal disruption, or shoot round the city if that suits the brand better.

Across the Amber Valley it’s premises and people at work: units on Castlewood Business Park in Alfreton or Peartree Business Centre in Ripley, and businesses in Heanor and Loscoe. Langley Mill as well, just down the road from there. Belper’s where I’m based, so a shoot on King Street or Bridge Street is a few minutes from me.

Matlock and Cromford and Wirksworth and the rest of the Dales are different again, because so much of the trade up there is visitors, so the rooms and the food have to look as good online as they do when people turn up. South of me it’s Duffield and Allestree, and east is Ilkeston and the rest of Erewash, with Eastwood just over the border into Nottinghamshire.

And some food, for Keto & Clarity.

Keto & Clarity is a cooking channel I film and edit. Every recipe gets its own overhead stills for the thumbnails and socials, and I lay the ingredients out before we start so there’s a shot of that too.

Common questions about business photography in Derbyshire.

How much does business photography cost in Derbyshire?

A one-off shoot is priced as a project once I know what the photos are for, so the cost matches the job, whether that’s a morning of team headshots or a full brand shoot. For photos coming through all year, Found & Filmed is £995 a month with a filming day on site each quarter and the stills edited for you. The Marketing MOT is £295.

What kind of photography do you do?

Business photography: headshots and team photos, brand and social media photos, premises, product and food, vehicles, and events and launches. I film video as well.

Do you come to our premises?

Yes. Most shoots happen at your office, shop, unit or yard, because that’s where the business happens and it looks like you. For team headshots on a plain backdrop, I bring the lights and the backdrop with me.

How long does a shoot take?

Team headshots take about an hour, and product shoots and brand sessions take about half a day. You’ll have a plan and timings before the day, so you can work round it.

What do we get after the shoot?

Edited and retouched high-resolution files, plus web sizes for your website and social media, with full commercial usage rights. The number of photos and the delivery date are set by the brief, and we agree both when the shoot’s planned.

Do you film video as well?

Yes. Short social clips and interviews, filmed on location and often planned alongside a photo shoot. I’m good at making people comfortable on camera, and nobody has to be on it if they’d rather not, because a film can be built round your premises and your team at work. There’s more on my videography page.

Do we need a monthly package to book a shoot?

No. A one-off shoot can be a project on its own, scoped first. Photos get used more on Found & Filmed, because the filming day comes round every quarter and the photos go straight onto your posts and pages, but it’s your call.

Do you do professional headshots in Derbyshire?

Yes. I do corporate and professional headshots at your office with lights and a backdrop, or outside on location if that suits you better, and I did the Willis Cooper team in Belper for their website. A headshot session on its own is a project, priced once I know how many people it is.

Do you do brand photography for small businesses in Derbyshire?

Yes. Most of what I shoot is for small businesses round Derbyshire: your people at work and the details that make the business yours, for the website and the next few months of social. A brand shoot on its own is a project, scoped first, or it comes round every quarter with the filming day on Found & Filmed.

Can you take photos for our website and social media?

Yes, that’s most of what I shoot. On Found & Filmed the photos from each quarter’s filming day are edited and posted for you, and a one-off batch for a new website can be a project on its own.

Where in Derbyshire do you work?

I’m based in Belper and photograph businesses across the county, including Derby, Matlock, Alfreton, Ripley, Heanor, Ilkeston, Duffield, Wirksworth and Cromford, and round the East Midlands. Most shoots are on location, so I come to wherever your business is.

P200// OVER TO YOU

If somebody in Derbyshire is deciding between you and the next firm on Google, are your photos helping?

The MOT looks at your Google listing and your website, which is where people see your photos first, and it’s back with you within 48 hours. Or if you’d rather talk about a shoot, book a call.
