Web Design in Cromford, Derbyshire

With the mill on the doorstep, most people who come to a Cromford business have looked it up on their phone before they’ve set off. So that’s the version I plan first, and I write it so ChatGPT and Google understand exactly what you are and where.

Who can build a website for a business in Cromford?

North Bear Media can. It’s Norton Hunt’s studio in Belper, a few miles down the Derwent valley, and it builds websites for Cromford businesses that rely on visitors as well as locals, set up so Google and ChatGPT can read them. Builds are scoped as projects first, and the £295 Marketing MOT is the usual place to start.

Web design for Cromford businesses.

Cromford is packed with industrial revolution history. It’s home to Arkwright’s Cromford Mill, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so it gets a steady stream of heritage visitors.

For a business here, whether you’re near the mill or in the village, more and more visitors simply ask ChatGPT, or the AI answer Google puts at the top of searches now, what’s worth doing round Cromford. They don’t scroll through ten websites. You need to be in that answer, and I’ll give you the best chance of being in it.

The website also has to work for the people who live here and use you every week, so before I design anything I work out which part goes at the top for whom.

I’m in Belper, seven miles down the valley, so we’ll have a coffee in Cromford or do it on a call.

How a website from me works.

Building it is a project. I get to know who’s visiting and who’s local first, and it’s priced after a quick chat.

What a visitor needs is simple: what you are and how to get to you. The harder part is that the mill is what most people came to see, so the photos and words have to show your place properly, not something that could be anywhere in Derbyshire. That’s where my photography and filming come in.

If you want it kept fresh, Found & Filmed is £995 a month, rolling, with 30 days’ notice either way. It covers the Google and AI search side and a filming day at yours every quarter, so there’s new video and stills for the busy season and the quiet one. The editing and posting are done for you, and the hosting and care of the site are in there too. That’s far cheaper than a full-time hire, with no training and no kit to buy.

Want to know where you stand first? The MOT’s £295, and the first thing I check is whether ChatGPT mentions you.

  • TWO LOTS //Visitors, and the regulars
  • BUILD //A project, priced after a quick chat
  • BUSY AND QUIET MONTHS //A filming day each quarter, on Found & Filmed at £995 a month
  • FIRST CHECK //Whether ChatGPT mentions you, in the £295 MOT

From the first coffee to a site people check before they come.

Here’s the order.

  1. 01 //

    Visitors and locals

I find out which of your customers are visiting and which are local, and what each needs to know before they come through the door.

  2. 02 //

    Your place, properly

Real photos of your place and your work, and words that sound like you talking, not brochure stuff.

  3. 03 //

    A draft on a link

You get a rough draft to click through, and you tell me what’s wrong with it.

  4. 04 //

    Live, and kept current

It goes live quick to load on a phone, and I keep it up to date through the year.

Common questions about web design in Cromford.

How much does a website cost in Cromford?

A website from me is priced after a quick chat, once I know whether it’s mostly for visitors or for regulars. If you want it all kept going, Found & Filmed is £995 a month with the hosting and care included, and the Marketing MOT is £295 if you want to see where you stand first.

How long does it take to build a website?

A few pages for visitors isn’t a big job. The photos of your place need planning, because you want them on a decent day and not in the middle of a busy weekend. We agree a timeline at the start, and bigger sites take longer.

Do you use templates?

I use whatever suits the job, so some sites are built from scratch and some go on a website platform. Either way it’s designed round your own photos and words, because most people have already seen pictures of the mill. What a visitor wants to know is what your place is like.

Will my website work on mobile?

Yes. Visitors look you up on the way over, or once they’ve parked at the mill, to see if you’re open and how far it is, so I build the phone version before anything else.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes. I host it and keep it current after it’s live, so a new page for an event or a change to your prices goes up when you need it. You just tell me. On Found & Filmed, that’s covered in the £995 a month.

P198// OVER TO YOU

When somebody planning a trip to Cromford asks Google or ChatGPT where to go, are you in the answer?

That’s the first thing the MOT checks, and you get it back within 48 hours for £295. Or book a call if you’d rather talk to me first.
