Frequently Asked Questions
These are the questions people ask me most. A lot of them are about cost, so the set prices are in: the MOT at £295 and Found & Filmed at £995 a month. There’s plenty on ChatGPT too, because that’s what people are asking me about right now, whether it mentions them or not. If yours isn’t here, book a call or ring me.

The MOT and Found & Filmed.
How much does it cost?
The Marketing MOT is £295 as a one-off, and Found & Filmed is £995 a month. If your business has more than one location, Found & Filmed is £450 a month on top for each extra one. Websites are priced after a quick chat, and other one-off projects once I know what they need to do. A website I build comes with Website Care at £45 a month.
Can you look at our marketing first?
Yes, that’s exactly what the Marketing MOT is for, and it costs £295. I check six things: AI search, Google, your website, your reviews, your social media and two of your local competitors, who go through the same checks so you see them side by side with you. You get a score out of 100 and a plain English PDF with the three things to fix first, back within 48 hours. The £295 isn’t discounted or taken off anything later, and the report is yours to keep.
What happens when I order the MOT?
You order it on the MOT page with a short form about your business, no need to speak to me first. Once your order comes through I email you an invoice for the £295, and the report comes back with your score and the three things to fix first. If you want to go through any of it afterwards, book a call.
What is Found & Filmed?
Found & Filmed is my retainer, at £995 a month, and it’s the only one I offer. It covers getting you found on Google and in AI search, a filming day on site with you each quarter, the video and stills from it edited and captioned, posting and scheduling, replies, hosting and care for your website, and a monthly report with a call. It’s rolling monthly, with 30 days’ notice either way.
Is this just social media management?
No. Social media is one part of Found & Filmed. The bigger part is getting you found when somebody looks for what you do in your town, on Google or by asking ChatGPT. The posts come from the video and stills I take on the quarterly filming days, and hosting and care of your website are included too.
Is it a set number of hours or posts each month?
No. Found & Filmed is one monthly price for the whole service, not a bundle of hours or a set number of posts. The amount of video and stills from a filming day comes down to what we film.
Do you actually come to our business?
Yes, on Found & Filmed I spend a filming day on site with you every quarter, filming video and taking stills of your business. The MOT is done remotely, so you don’t need me there for that one.
What if we have more than one location?
It’s the same Found & Filmed package, at £995 a month for the first location and £450 a month on top for each extra location. So a business with two sites would pay £1,445 a month, and one with three sites would pay £1,895 a month.
Should I start with the MOT or Found & Filmed?
Start steady with the MOT if you don’t know where your marketing stands, because for £295 it shows how you come up on Google and in AI search and exactly what to fix first. If you already know you want the quarterly filming days and somebody getting you found every month, go straight to Found & Filmed, and add locations when you want more. The £295 isn’t taken off Found & Filmed afterwards, because the two are separate.
Can we start with a single project instead?
Yes, websites are built as projects and priced after a quick chat, and so are copywriting, brand and graphic design, strategy, AI and automation setups and email campaigns. Each one is scoped first, so you know what it costs before anything starts.
Who will we actually deal with?
You deal with me, Norton Hunt. I do the web and video work myself, and a couple of remote specialists help me with some of the marketing, but you’re never handed over to an account manager.
Do you add VAT to your prices?
No, North Bear Media isn’t VAT registered, so no VAT is added to any of my prices, including the £295 MOT and the £995 a month for Found & Filmed.
Being found in AI search.
Can you get my business recommended by ChatGPT?
Nobody can guarantee what ChatGPT says, but I’ll give you the best chance of being the one it suggests. Working on being found in AI search is part of Found & Filmed, and the £295 MOT shows exactly where you stand first.
What is AI search, and why does it matter for a local business?
AI search is when somebody asks an assistant like ChatGPT who to use, and it answers with a few names instead of a page of links. Google does something similar now with the AI Overviews at the top of some searches. If you’re not one of the names it gives, the customer never gets as far as your website.
How do I check whether ChatGPT recommends my business?
Ask it the way a customer would, with your trade and your town in it, something like ‘who do I talk to about mowing lawns in Belper’, and see whose names come back. Word it several different ways, because people ask things differently. AI search is one of the six checks in the £295 MOT.
Web design & development.
How much does a website cost in Derbyshire?
At North Bear Media in Belper, a website is priced after a quick chat, so you get the figure before any work starts. Every site I build comes with Website Care at £45 a month. If you’re on Found & Filmed at £995 a month, hosting and care are already included.
How much does a website cost in Derby?
A website for a Derby business costs the same with me as anywhere else, because each one is priced after a quick chat about what it needs to do, not where you’re based. I’m in Belper, just up the A6, so coming to see you in Derby isn’t a problem. Like every site I build, it comes with Website Care at £45 a month.
Can I get a cheap website in Derby?
Yes. The cheapest way to get a website in Derby is to make it yourself on a site builder, where you pay a monthly fee and put the pages together on your own. Weigh that against what the site has to do for you. My comparison of DIY and professional websites in Derby goes through both.
How long does it take to build a website?
It comes down to the size of the site, and two of my Google reviews give a guide: Nicholas Westray says the logo and website for Industrial Warehaus Property Group were done within 10 days of his first Teams call with me, and Sarah Woodman of Enso HR Consultancy says hers took around three to four weeks from first conversation to going live. I agree a timeline with you before I start, and a lot of it comes down to how quickly the words and photos come together.
Do you use WordPress or website builders?
I use a website builder or build from scratch, whichever suits the business. Willis Cooper’s site was built on Hostinger Website Builder and IWPG’s was built from scratch. The WordPress site I look after is Steadplan’s, and another agency built that one before I took it over. I’ll tell you which route I’d take for yours, and why, before anything starts.
Will my website work on mobile phones?
Yes. I design for phones first, because that’s where most people look you up, then check it works properly on bigger screens before it goes live.
Do you include hosting and maintenance?
Every website I build comes with Website Care at £45 a month, and on Found & Filmed hosting and care for your website are already in the £995 a month.
Do I need a new website or can you fix my existing one?
I’ll look at what you’ve got and tell you straight. If it’s sound and just needs updating, I’ll work with what’s there. If it’s slow or it isn’t bringing enquiries in, rebuilding it is usually better value than fixing one thing after another. The website check in the £295 MOT tells you exactly where it stands.
How do I find the best web designers near me?
Look at a few websites they’ve already built and try them on your phone. If they’re slow or the phone number is hard to find, yours will end up the same. I’m in Belper and build websites across Derbyshire, Ilkeston included, and over the border in Eastwood, and my guide to web designers in Belper and Derbyshire compares a few of us.
Marketing strategy.
What does a marketing agency actually do?
A marketing agency gets your business in front of the people who buy from you. Most either sell one-off jobs, like a website, or run your marketing for you each month. With me, the usual place to start is the £295 Marketing MOT, to see where you stand, and the monthly side is Found & Filmed at £995 a month, which covers being found on Google and in AI search, with video and photos from the filming days going out. Websites and other one-off work are done as projects, scoped first.
What is the best marketing agency in Belper?
I’m biased, but North Bear Media is a marketing agency based in Belper, rated 5.0 from 22 Google reviews. What sets it apart is the focus on being found in AI search as well as on Google. If you’re comparing, my article on the best marketing agencies in Belper and Derbyshire is a fair place to start.
How do I choose a marketing agency near me?
Pick one that’s done work for businesses like yours and can show it to you, then read their Google reviews to see what they’re like to deal with. Choose one close enough to come and see you, who tells you what things cost before you commit to anything. My guide to choosing a marketing agency in Derbyshire goes through what to ask.
Do I need to sign a long-term contract?
No. Found & Filmed is rolling monthly, with 30 days’ notice either way, so if it’s not working, you stop. The Marketing MOT is a one-off £295, so there’s nothing ongoing with that.
How do I know if marketing is actually working?
You count the enquiries it brings in and where each one came from, not likes and followers. Most small business websites I look at have nothing set up to record enquiries, so that’s often the first thing to fix, and it’s one of the things the MOT checks. On Found & Filmed you get a monthly report and a call to go through it.
How much should I spend on marketing as a small business?
A common rule of thumb is 5 to 10 per cent of revenue, and the right amount comes down to the stage the business is at and what you need the marketing to do. For a sense of my prices, the MOT costs £295 and Found & Filmed is £995 a month. If you don’t know where it’s worth spending, the MOT tells you before you commit to anything monthly.
What’s the difference between SEO and paid ads?
SEO is the work of getting your business to show up in Google’s normal results, and now in AI answers too, without paying for each click. Paid ads put you at the top straight away, but you pay every time somebody clicks, and once you stop paying you stop showing up there. Plenty of businesses use both. Found & Filmed covers the SEO and AI search side, so it doesn’t include paid ads.
Should I hire a marketing agency or a freelancer in Derbyshire?
A freelancer usually works through the tasks you hand over, and a bigger agency can put several people between you and the work. I sit in between: you deal with me directly, and I bring in specialist help on some of the marketing when it’s needed. My comparison of agencies and freelancers in Derbyshire goes into more detail.
Should I outsource marketing or keep it in-house?
Keep it in-house if somebody in the business has the time and enjoys it. Otherwise, outsource it. A full-time marketing hire means a salary, National Insurance, pension, recruiting, interviews, onboarding and training, plus a camera, lights, a laptop and software before they’ve made anything. Found & Filmed is £995 a month with the kit and skills already there. If you keep it in-house, the MOT gives whoever’s doing it a list of what to fix first. My guide to in-house and outsourced marketing for Belper businesses sets out both sides.
SEO & local search.
Can you help my business rank on Google in Derbyshire?
Yes. Getting found on Google and in AI search is part of Found & Filmed, and the £295 MOT shows where you come up now for the searches that matter. No honest agency promises a set position on Google, but I do the work that gets you up there.
What is local SEO and why does it matter for Derbyshire businesses?
Local SEO is making sure your business comes up when people nearby search for what you do, in Google’s map results and the normal results underneath. For a plumber in Belper or a café in Matlock, it matters because the people searching already want what you sell. It feeds into AI search as well, because assistants like ChatGPT lean heavily on the same reviews and listings when they suggest somebody local.
How long does SEO take to show results?
It takes months, not weeks. Many businesses start to see movement within three to six months, with bigger gains over six to twelve. Your competition and your starting point set the pace, and searches in smaller towns like Belper or Ripley move faster than Derby.
Do I need a Google Business Profile for my Derbyshire business?
Yes, if you serve local customers. It’s free, and it’s what gets you into the map results when somebody searches for your trade in your town. I check it in the Google part of the MOT.
Social media management.
What are the best social media platforms for a small business?
The best platforms are the ones your customers already use, which for most businesses selling to the public round here means Facebook and Instagram. If you sell to other businesses, LinkedIn usually does more for you. My article on the best social media platforms for small businesses goes through the others as well, TikTok included.
How often should I post on social media?
Post often enough that you can keep it up, because a steady rhythm beats ten posts one week and nothing for a month. For most small businesses that’s a few posts a week on their main platform. On Found & Filmed the posting and scheduling are handled for you, using the video and photos from the filming days.
Do I need social media management for my small business?
Yes, if your customers are on Facebook or Instagram, be there and post regularly. If you haven’t got the time, or it’s gone quiet because you’ve been flat out, that’s the point to hand it over. With me it’s part of Found & Filmed, not sold on its own, so the posts come from the filming days at your business.
How much does social media management cost in Derbyshire?
With me, social media management is part of Found & Filmed at £995 a month, rather than something I sell on its own. That covers posting and scheduling, replies, a filming day on site each quarter with the video and stills edited and captioned, being found on Google and in AI search, hosting and care for your website, and a monthly report with a call.
Should I manage social media myself or outsource it?
If you’re posting every week and people are commenting, keep doing it yourself. If it keeps slipping when you get busy, hand it over. You’ve got a business to run. On Found & Filmed the posting and replies are handled for you.
Who can do my social media near Derby?
North Bear Media can, from Belper, which is north of Derby on the A6. I’m Norton Hunt, and social media posting and replies are part of my Found & Filmed service at £995 a month, along with a filming day on site each quarter, so the posts use video and photos I’ve taken at your business. I work with businesses in Derby and across the rest of Derbyshire.
Photography & videography.
What types of photography do you offer?
I do commercial photography for businesses, so team photos and headshots, products, buildings, vehicles, events and the everyday work that shows what you do. I shoot at your place or wherever the work happens, mostly around Belper and the rest of Derbyshire, and you get edited, high-resolution images for your website and for print.
Do I need professional photography for my website?
Yes. It makes a real difference, because people can spot a stock photo and it makes a business look generic. Photos of the people who actually work for you show customers who they’ll be dealing with before they ring. On Found & Filmed you get new ones every quarter from the filming days.
What video services do you provide?
I make brand films, social media videos, promotional videos, interviews, testimonials and event coverage, and I do the filming and editing myself. I also make Work Here films, which are short recruitment films showing what it’s like to work somewhere, for businesses that are struggling to hire. Each video is planned around where it’s going to be used, on your website or your social media.
How much does a photo or video shoot cost?
On Found & Filmed, a filming day on site each quarter is included in the £995 a month, with the video and stills edited and captioned. A one-off shoot is done as a project, so I find out what you need from it and give you a price before anything’s booked. Work Here films are priced after a quick chat.
Who does video production in Belper?
North Bear Media does. It’s based in Belper, and I’m Norton Hunt, the one who does the filming and editing. Most of what I make is video for businesses’ websites and social media, and I also make short recruitment films called Work Here films. I film across Derby and the rest of Derbyshire too, and Found & Filmed includes a filming day on site every quarter.
How do I find the best video production company in Derby?
Watch a few films they’ve already made and ask where each one was used, because a film for your website and clips for social media get planned differently, and a good company asks you that early on. I’m based in Belper and film for businesses in Derby, and my videography page for Derby has more on how I work.
How much does content creation cost in the Midlands?
With me, content creation is part of Found & Filmed at £995 a month, which includes a filming day on site each quarter, the video and stills edited and captioned, posting and scheduling, and the replies. A one-off shoot is priced as a project once I know what you need. I’m based in Belper and work mostly across Derbyshire and the East Midlands.
Copywriting.
What is copywriting and do I need it?
Copywriting is the words on your website and in the rest of your marketing, written so people understand what you do and want to get in touch. If your website gets visitors but not enquiries, the words are often what’s missing. It matters for Google and AI search too, because they read the words to work out what you do and where.
Do you write website content?
Yes. The words for a website I build are written as part of the job, and copy for an existing website or a campaign is done as a project, priced once I know what it’s for. It’s written the way you’d explain things to a customer, answering what they ask and using the words they’d type into Google.
Graphic design & branding.
Can you design my logo and brand identity?
Yes, I design logos and the rest of a brand identity, the colours, fonts, brand guidelines, social media templates and marketing materials, so that everything you put out looks like it comes from the same business. It’s done as a project, scoped first. I designed the logo for Industrial Warehaus Property Group.
What does a graphic designer do for a business?
A graphic designer makes the visual side of a business, from the logo and brand to brochures, social media graphics, signage and packaging. Good design helps people trust you before they’ve spoken to you, which matters a lot when they’re comparing you with competitors in the same town.
I already have a logo. Do I need a full rebrand?
Not necessarily. If your logo works but it’s used inconsistently, a set of brand guidelines brings everything into line without starting again. I’ll look at what you’ve got and tell you the cheapest route that does the job.
Who does logo design and branding near Belper?
North Bear Media does, from Belper, with logos and brand work done as projects, and you’d have a price from me before I start on it. I work with businesses in Belper and across the rest of Derbyshire, and we can meet at your place or in town, whichever suits you.
AI implementation.
Can you help with AI implementation for my business?
Yes, I set up AI tools and automation for businesses, as projects scoped first. That might be a job that should run itself, like the AutoTrader stock feed I set up for Steadplan so their vans show on their website automatically, or AI helping with something like answering customer enquiries.
Is AI implementation worth it for small businesses in Derbyshire?
Yes, when it starts with one specific job, not AI for the sake of it. Writing up quotes from your own notes is a good example: AI drafts them and you check them over.
Is AI going to replace my marketing?
No. The marketing still needs somebody who understands your business, and photos and video of it. AI is useful for speeding up repetitive jobs, and it’s changing how people find you, because more of them now ask ChatGPT who to use.
How can AI help my business?
AI can help a small business mostly by taking over repetitive jobs, like turning a recorded meeting into notes and a list of who’s doing what. I do that kind of setup as a project, with the price agreed up front, and being found when customers ask ChatGPT is part of Found & Filmed.
How can I automate business processes in Derby?
Start with one job that takes time every week and follows the same steps each time, because that’s the easiest one to automate. A common example is the same details being typed into two systems, which a feed between them stops, so the information only goes in once. I set these up for businesses in Derby and across Derbyshire, quoted as a one-off job.
General.
What areas do you cover?
Mostly Derbyshire and the East Midlands, from my base in Belper, because the filming days on Found & Filmed mean coming out to you every quarter. The MOT and a lot of the web work don’t need me on site, so I also work with businesses further away, like Steadplan in Lancashire and IWPG in London.
Where is North Bear Media based?
North Bear Media Ltd is based in Belper, Derbyshire, and its registered office is Unit 6 Heritage Business Centre, Derby Road, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 1SW. You can ring 01773 307 308 or email info@northbearmedia.co.uk, and the company number is 15724523.
Is it just you, or a team?
It’s me, Norton Hunt. A couple of remote specialists in other parts of the country help with some of the marketing for clients, but the web and video side is mine.
How do I start working with you?
If you’d like me to look at where you stand first, order the £295 Marketing MOT on the MOT page, and if you’d rather talk first, book a call. You can also use the contact form, ring 01773 307 308, email info@northbearmedia.co.uk or WhatsApp 07985 345 147, and I’ll reply myself.
